Ruth Louise Hermann, 91, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday evening, January 21, 2019 at Morningside Health Care Center where she had been receiving rehabilitation.
Born March 19, 1927 in Little River, WI, Ruth was a daughter of the late Fred and Elsie Mielke Cisar. She attended Oconto area schools and graduated from Oconto High School in 1945. On November 9, 1946, she was united in marriage to Walter Hermann in Oconto, WI. They were married for almost 52 years before Walter preceded her in death on November 6, 1998.
Ruth worked as a nursing assistant at Morningside Health Care for 21 years before her retirement in 1992. She then continued to volunteer at Morningside for another 21 years until 2017. She was a member of Luther Memorial Church in Sheboygan. She volunteered for many years for the American Red Cross and Washington School. She also served as a Brownie, Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. She was a member of the Dart Ball Club at St. Andrew Lutheran Church and also her bridge and canasta clubs. She enjoyed embroidering dish towels, quilting and making crafts to sell at Morningside.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Sharon) Hermann, Appleton, Gary (Jar) Hermann, Walworth, Steve (Jennifer) Hermann, Sheboygan, Scott (Sharon) Hermann, Fernley, NV, and Pamela (Richard) Michaelson, Brooksville, FL; her ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; her sister Shirley Enderby, Marinette, WI; her brother, Kenneth (Kate) Cisar, Oconto; nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, Walter, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Kurt Hermann, and her brother-in-law Eugene Enderby.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Luther Memorial Church, 1127 Eisner Avenue. The Rev. Adam Barkley will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Lutheran Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Morningside Resident Activity Fund, 3431 N. 13th Street, Sheboygan, WI 53083.
