Joan Mary White, 95, of
Sheboygan, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at her home.
Joan was born on January 15,
1923, in Kewaskum, to John and Barbara (Schneider) Lehnerz. She was a 1941
graduate of Kewaskum High School. On September 14, 1946 she married Cecil
White, he preceded her in death on December 11, 1997. Joan was a dedicated wife
and mother to their six children.
Joan was a member of St. George
Parish, and Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. During her years at St.
George, she was a faithful choir member, CCD teacher and a member of the
Christian Mothers. Joan was also a member of St. Vincent De Paul and
volunteered at the store. She participated with the Town of Wilson Homemakers
and helped in the health room at Jackson Elementary School. Joan enjoyed
crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing, and playing cards with friends. She
loved nature, especially hiking and gardening.
Joan is survived by her six
children, Barbara White of Sheboygan, Louise (Michael) White-Roach of Eau
Claire, Annette (Tom) Gryglewski of Hingham, Mary (Peter) Martin of Mount
Calvary, Mike (Deb) White of Sheboygan, and Cate (Mark) Pearce of Plymouth;
fourteen Grandchildren, Andrea Pelloquin, Christy (Kyle) Moen, Sara Martin,
Laura (Kevin) Wagner, Katrina (Brian) Mauk, Tessa (Brad) TenHaken, Jessica
(Jason) Riley, Jacob (Erin) Martin, Madeline Martin, Gina (Brad) Breit, John
White, Aaron (Libby) White, Noah Pearce, and Nicholas Pearce; and 17 great
grandchildren and one more on the way. She is further survived by nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Cecil White; one granddaughter, Stacey White; two great
grandchildren, Angel and Boyd Mauk; two sisters, Genevieve Lehnerz, and
Mercedes (Robert) Hetebrueg; and two brothers, Albion (Jeanne) Lehnerz, and
Harold Lehnerz.
A funeral service to celebrate
Joan's life will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 6pm at Blessed Trinity
Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Dennis VanBeek officiating. A
burial will take place at St. George Catholic Cemetery in Town of Wilson.
Relatives and friends may greet
the family at the church on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 3pm until the time of
service at 6pm.
A memorial fund is being
established in her name.
The family wishes to extend a
heartfelt thank you to their sister Barb, for all the wonderful care and love
that she gave to mom and to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, especially
Mary Ann; Dr. Coulis' office, especially Joe Miller, and Dr. Dean Mancheski for
the care and compassion they gave to Joan.
