Thunderstorms over the past week have brought sporadic relief from the overall dry, or even drought conditions in Sheboygan County. That’s reflected in the latest report from the US Drought Service, which said that 86.5% of Sheboygan County remains in a Moderate Drought, with the remainder, comprising the southeast corner, under Abnormally Dry conditions.

The National Weather Service sees no reason that those conditions will change in the near term and forecasts covering the next 3-4 weeks suggest watering or irrigation may be needed, with expectations of near normal temperatures accompanied by below normal precipitation as summer draws to a close.
