The current Moderate Drought in Sheboygan County has expanded slightly, around 3%, since last week, with the National Drought Monitor listing 86.5% of the County under those conditions, with the remainder classified as Abnormally Dry.
Less than a half inch of rain was experienced on average during the past week while highs in the 80s dominated, leaving lawns and fields stressed, and with that drought affecting all but an area south of a Random Lake to Town of Wilson line.
While the drought is expected to persist over the next month there is some hope for a little relief in the near term, as forecasters figure that there’s the potential for between 1-1/2 to 2” of rain within the next 7 days.
