Gerald “Jerry” John Veldboom, 88, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Azura Memory Care and Assisted Living in Mukwonago.
Jerry was born to John and Ella (Meinen) Veldboom on March 9, 1938, in Oostburg. He graduated from Oostburg High School. Jerry served his country in the US Navy from February 1956 to March 1959.
On May 16, 1964, he was united in marriage to Betty Herman in Sheboygan. Together they shared 62 years and raised three children.
Jerry worked at Wigwam Mills for 30+ years, retiring as a purchasing manager. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, where he served as an elder and sang in the church choir. Jerry also sang with the Sheboygan Symphony Choir for several years.
Jerry enjoyed meeting up with his siblings for “Breakfast Club” on Saturday mornings. He loved his family and grandchildren more than anything and treasured the time with them.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Betty; children: Brad (Kathy) Veldboom of Eden Prairie, MN, Brian (Traci) Veldboom of Cranberry Township, PA, and Lori (Bill) Boinski of Muskego, WI; grandchildren: Tyler Veldboom, Parker Veldboom, Jonathan Boinski, Colton Veldboom, Brianna Boinski; brother-in-law, Dave Wingert; sister-in-law, Kathy (Richard) Parr; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roly (Alice June) VerVelde; sisters, Wilma (Lewis) Veldboom and Eleanor “Ellie” Wingert.
Funeral services will be held at Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00am. Visitation will take place from 9:30am until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
