A single-vehicle rollover accident left a child dead and injured three other persons in Fond du Lac County on Wednesday.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said that they received a report of a one-vehicle accident on County Road V near Lime Road just outside the Village of Eden shortly after 3 PM. Deputies along with Eden Fire Department and First Responders immediately treated those inside the vehicle. The 29-year-old Fond du Lac man driving the mini van was transported for minor injuries as were two passengers: an 8-year-old Fond du Lac boy and 15-year-old girl from Campbellsport. An 11-year-old North Fond du Lac Girl was flighted by ThedaStar to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee but died shortly after arriving.
Investigators say the northbound minivan lost control, crossed the centerline, entered the west ditch and struck an embankment, sending it airborne and overturning several times before coming to rest.
The investigation is ongoing and names are being withheld for now.
