The Sheboygan Metropolitan Area’s unemployment rate went up in June compared to May, but was unchanged since June of last year according to the latest info from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. City and County rates weren’t much different.
By the numbers, the State Department of Workforce Development put the Sheboygan Metro Area’s labor force at 64,000, up 300 for the month but down 400 from last June, resulting in an unemployment rate of 3.1 percent.
The City of Sheboygan itself saw unemployment rise a half-percent since May to 3.2 precent; that compares with 3.3 percent last June.
Taking all of Sheboygan County into account, June’s unemployment rate comes in at 3.1 percent, up from 2.6 percent in May and unchanged since June of 2025.
