Daniel J. Conard, 87, of Waupaca, passed away on July 20, 2026, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.
Daniel was born on April 18, 1939, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, to the late Joseph and Mary (Baudhuin) Conard. He graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
On January 3, 1959, Daniel was united in marriage to Dorene Thorsen in Sturgeon Bay. Together they shared many years of love and family until her passing.
Daniel dedicated more than 30 years to Piggly Wiggly, where he served as the meat department manager. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time on the golf course, monitoring bluebird houses, and raising monarch butterflies. Above all, Daniel will be remembered as a loving and caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and partner.
Daniel is survived by his son, Steve (Tami) Conard; his daughters, Bobbi (Bruce) DeMaster and Terri (Tom) Behrens; eight grandchildren, Andrea (Brandon) Gutshow, Nikki (Chris) Hill, Kendra Conard, Kellin (Brad) McCullough, Corey DeMaster, Danielle (Marcus) Kruse, Tanner (Cassie) Behrens, and McCormick Behrens; eleven great-grandchildren, Breely and Belle Gutshow, Ryan, Kylie, and Kaden Hill, Avaya Conard, Finley and Kennedy McCullough, Levi, Jacek, and Jameson Kruse, and Ella Behrens; and his special partner, Gloria Zahn.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorene Conard.
A funeral service for Daniel will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Zimmer Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd., Howards Grove. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Daniel’s memory to a Parkinson’s organization of your choice.
