Active weather is predicted to return to Sheboygan and surrounding counties this afternoon and that could mean dealing with wind, hail, heavy rain and lightning hazards.

Essentially all of Sheboygan County is in a 2-out-of-5 risk level of those hazards today, with isolated storms possible as early as 1 this afternoon. The peak risk period is from 4-8 PM and it could take until midnight before all the storms clear, and by Thursday morning, a half inch to one-and-a-quarter inches of rain could provide a much-needed soaking. That could also cause minor flooding of small streams and ponding on roadways.

A few more storms are possible Thursday afternoon and early evening, some containing gusty winds, hail, and cloud-to-ground lightning. It’s advised to maintain a good way to receive possible warnings throughout the period.
