A Plymouth man is facing his 5th OWI following an arrest in Fond Du Lac Sunday morning.
Officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol say Travis Balz was stopped near County Highway F and Vista Drive for equipment violations. That stop changed to an OWI charge when troopers observed signs of impairment as well as open intoxicants in the vehicle. Troopers also reported finding methamphetamine in the suspect’s vehicle.
If convicted of his 5th OWI, a Class G felony in Wisconsin, Balz could face up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $25,000, a 2-3 year driver’s license revocation, and mandatory use of an Ignition Interlock Device.
