Fortune was on the side of a pilot and his passenger when the airplane their were in went down about 6 miles west of Neenah on Thursday afternoon.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at Oakridge and Green Meadow Roads shortly after 4 PM where a single engine Zenair CH-750 Cruzer experienced mechanical issues and made a hard landing on Oakridge Road. The plane eventually came to rest partially in a ditch and experienced damage to the front end and landing gear.
The 71–year-old French citizen piloting the plane and his 22-year-old passenger from Sweden were not injured.
Officials of the FAA and NTSB were notified and will continue the investigation.
