Thomas J. Sippel, 87 of the Town Rhine passed away following a brief illness on Monday, June 28, 2026 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center.
Tom Was born on September 7, 1938 in Plymouth, a son to the late Claude and Lucille (Kohlman) Sippel. He attended schools in Plymouth. On December 1, 1984 he was united in marriage to Kay Preder
Tom served in the Army Reserves and was employed at Borden. He also operated the Last Resort Tavern in Elkhart Lake was employed at Rhine Auto Parts.. He was well known as the “Woodman” supplying wood to various campsites in the Elkhart Lake area and was also hired out ss a stumpgrinder. Tom enjoyed his time at his cabin and visiting local establishments in the Pembine Dunbar area. He also enjoyed modified car racing and woodworking. He was a former member of the Elkhart Lake Lions Club and the Elk Rhine Riders Snowmobile club participating as flagman in snowmobile races.
Tom is survived by his wife, Kay; his sons, Randy (Lynne) Sippel and Scott (Tina) Sippel, both of Elkhart Lake; his daughter, Laurie (Wayne) Limberg of Glenbeulah; his grandchildren, Athena (Eriq) Johnston, Jackie (Jeff) Noe, Becky (Charles) Lasky, Ben (Emily) Limberg, Shannon (Brian) Biller, Casey (Easton) Sippel, Miranda Sippel, Hannah Sippel and Travis Sippel; his great grandchildren, Haddie, Maverick, Sage, Archer, Odin, Eli, Sam, Alex and Henry; and a brother, Bob (Mary) Sippel of Watertown. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends further survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice (Joe) Meyer and Joyce (Don) Federwisch and his brother and sister-in-law, Joe (Sandy) Sippel,
A memorial service for Thomas Sippel will be held 6 PM, Thursday, July 9, 2026 at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth with Rev. Thomas Subi officiating. Family and friends may greet the family at the funeral home 123 South Street, Plymouth on Thursday from 3 PM until the time of service at 6 PM
