Marilyn (Wassink) Hanson, age 88, passed away on June 22, 2026 in Sheboygan, WI. She was born on September 30, 1937, to Harvey and Bernice (Kappers) Wassink in Sheboygan, WI. She married Paul Hanson on November 29, 1963, at the Gibbsville Reformed Church.
Marilyn graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1955 and from Wisconsin State College, Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1962. She taught all eight grades at Greene School in Sheboygan County, then at Batavia, Kohler, and Oostburg, for a total of 26 years.
Marilyn is survived by her sons Timothy (Gabriele) of Portland, OR, Paul Jr. (Tonya) of Lincoln, NE, and Luke (Amy) of the Town of Sheboygan; her daughter, Jennifer, of Kohler, WI; her grandchildren Kayla, Dakota (Theresa), Austin (Leanne), and Erin (James); her great-grandchildren Elliana, Annaliese, Deklan, Olivia, Lincoln, and Presley; and her brother, Julian (Diane).
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents, Harvey and Bernice Wassink; and her brother, Carl.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held at a future date. Inurnment will take place at Hingham Cemetery, Hingham, WI.
