Summer and picnics go together, but a recent event in the Town of Sheboygan had meaning beyond simply spending a day in the sun with good company and good food.
The over 500 guests who gathered at Firehouse Park were patients, survivors, community members and teammates who had a common experience with cancer. Many who attended the Aurora Cancer Survivor’s Day Picnic also honored those who had lost their battle and acknowledged the contributions of their families, friends and caregivers.

The picnic, held during June’s National Cancer Survivors Month, included lunch, live music, face painting, games and education on cancer prevention and cancer screening recommendations.
