One person died and several others were injured when two vehicles collided on Tuesday afternoon.
Winnebago County authorities say that a sedan was traveling south on Green Valley Road and had stopped at County Road GG and then entered the intersection. The driver of an SUV that was westbound on GG saw the sedan and tried unsuccessfully to avoid a collision. The 60-year-old Oshkosh man driving the sedan that was then struck was transported to a hospital for treatment, but died there of his injuries.
An unspecified number of people in the SUV were injured, but all were non-life threatening. The intersection, about 4 miles north of Oshkosh, was closed for several hours for cleanup and the accident remains under investigation.
