Sheboygan Police Department
The Sheboygan Police and Fire Commission declined last week to take immediate action concerning Lieutenant William Adams. The Commission had found previously that allegations filed by Chief Kurt Zempel concerning conduct by Adams to be sufficient to impose discipline, but a closed session during the May 19th meeting resulted in no action taken.
That session followed earlier discussion during the meeting concerning bylaws related to the preliminary hearing and response process, which resulted in discussions being tabled until hearings scheduled for June 17, 23 and 24 in the third floor Council Chambers beginning at 9 AM each day. Before then, an Independent Hearing Officer will confer with City Attorney Liz Majerus for recommendations on those bylaws.
Beyond the June hearings, another regular meeting of the Police and Fire Commission will not occur until July.
