Ray A. Sixel, 97, of Howards Grove, formerly of Town of Mosel, passed away at Harvest Home where he had been a resident for the last eight years. He was born in the Town of Mosel on June 9, 1928, a son of the late Palmer and Leona (Horneck) Sixel.
On November 11, 1950 he united in marriage to Marian Lutze at St. John St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland. Ray and Marian operated the Sixel Homestead Farm in the Town of Mosel. He was an active member at St. Marks UCC, Cleveland.
Ray is survived by his son, Randall (Connie) Sixel of Howards Grove; daughter Barbara (John) Sohn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren, Travis (Jess) Sixel, Stacey (Andy) Harmon, Kari (Brent) DeHart, Taylor Sohn and Morgan Sohn; two step great-grandchildren, Taylor and Nolan Schuette; six great-grandchildren, Brantley, Kenzie, Tate, Katelyn, William and Jacob.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marian Sixel; his parents; his sister, Carol (Richard) Schoneman; sister-in-law, Myrtle (Leslie) Fischer.
All services will be private. Ray will be entombed at Chapel of Eternal Light Mausoleum, Greenlawn Memorial Park.
