While Americans are thinking ahead with summer vacation plans, the American Red Cross is doing much the same, but for different reasons. The organization said that busy summer schedules often lead to fewer donors and shrinking supplies of blood and platelets, and so they’re calling for donors to step forward now to help avoid shortages in the coming months. They’re even sweetening the deal with incentives.
Those donating now through May 17th will receive a $20 Amazon Gift Card via email, and those donating May 18th through the 31st will be gifted an oversized Red Cross beach towel, while supplies last. You can make an appointment to donate at RedCrossBlood.org.
