With only fuzzy pictures and a description to go on, Fond du Lac County authorities are trying to identify who was driving a motorcycle at over 140 MPH on Monday night. A traffic stop for speeding and a license plate violation was attempted by a Sheriff’s Deputy at around 8 PM on northbound I-41 in the Town of Byron. That prompted the cyclist to flee at over 130 mph and the pursuit was ended.
The suspect was seen by a second deputy only three minutes later entering Fond du Lac city streets and tried to stop them, but the cyclist re-entered I-41 northbound and accelerated to more than 140 MPH. That pursuit was ended shortly after it began, but a third deputy spotted the suspect three minutes later in the Town of Friendship. The cyclist then evaded that deputy, passing traffic on the shoulder and was last seen exiting onto County Highway “N” near Eldorado.
The suspect, seen only on dim dash cam still shots, was wearing dark clothing and helmet, the jacket displaying two distinct stripes down the back. Anyone with related information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (920) 929-3390, or the Fond du Lac County Law Enforcement Tip Line at (920) 906-4777.
