GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Radio and television stations from across Wisconsin came together in Madison on Saturday to celebrate their award-winning work at the 2026 Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Awards Gala.
108 stations sent in 1,322 entries which were judged by professional broadcasters outside Wisconsin. All entries were stories/content created in 2025.
WTAQ took home seven first place awards in the medium-sized market news/talk radio including:
- Best morning radio show – The Morning News with Matt and Rob
- Best use of station social media platforms – WTAQ at the NFL Draft
- Best original digital content – VanStraten Farms Cabbage Harvest
- Best continuing coverage – Niko Sila Firing
- Best hard news/investigative – Appleton “No Kings” Protest
- Best feature – Proprietor Politics: Partisanship in Small Business
- Best significant community impact – Families of Children with Cancer Radiothon 2025
“Broadcasters show year after year their dedication to their local communities and it’s an honor to recognize their outstanding service,” said WBA President and CEO Michelle Vetterkind. “There’s so much for radio and TV broadcasters to be proud of and great reason to celebrate them and their work.”
Created in 1951; the awards gala this year celebrated 75 years of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.
