Volunteers will be painting Sheboygan streets on Saturday, part of a program called “Safe Streets for All”. A grant was awarded last year to the City of Sheboygan to promote safety on city streets and prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries. The Grant Program is funded by the US Department of Transportation, and $5 billion was appropriated for years 2022-2026 nationwide.
On Saturday, MSA Professional Services, Inc. along with citizen volunteers will be installing temporary traffic calming measures at the following intersections:
Pennsylvania Avenue and Broughton Drive
N. 4th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue
Wedemeyer Street and Wilson Avenue
S. 15th Street and Wilson Avenue.
In the latter case at Wilson Elementary School, traffic calming murals will be painted on the street during operations between 9 AM and 12 Noon.
To safely complete the work, the intersections will be closed between 7 AM and Noon tomorrow, May 2nd. Workers will be utilizing barricades and detour signage at the affected intersections.
