Once again, the National Weather Service is alerting the public to be on high alert due to the risk of severe weather this evening. A Tornado Watch has been issued from now until 8 PM for all of Wisconsin, essentially southward from a Green Bay to Hudson line, excepting Kewaunee and Racine Counties.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop in Iowa and southwestern Wisconsin this afternoon, progressing eastward with threats of a few tornadoes, widespread hail up to softball size, and scattered wind gusts up to 70 MPH.

NWS Graphic
While activity will begin earlier west of the Wisconsin River, Sheboygan and other eastern Wisconsin counties can expect activity mostly between 4 and 8 PM. Besides the watch for tornadoes, a Flood Watch is also in effect until 7 AM Saturday, as soil conditions are saturated and any additional rainfall will only exacerbate flooding conditions.
In the wake of today’s activity, Saturday should be cool and breezy as skies become sunny and temperatures struggle to reach 50 degrees. Both Sunday and Monday should be much the same, extending the dry weather, and Tuesday adds the benefit of highs in the 60s.
