Nancy Ann Bassuener, 83, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Nancy was born on August 18, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA to Thomas and Anna (Blaschkowski) Puntarec. Nancy was a 1960 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. On February 6, 1960 she married Carlos Bassuener in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2015. Nancy attended Lakeshore Technical College and received a vocational diploma as an LPN in 1980. She worked at Sunny Ridge, Morningside, and Rocky Knoll Nursing Homes as well as Memorial Hospital.
Nancy proudly helped care for her grandchildren after school for years. Nancy is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan where she visited shut in members of the church and was involved in the XYZ club. She was also involved with distributing meals for Meals on Wheels. Nancy was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the Elder Care of Family. She worked as a volunteer for the REUSE IT STORE (to benefit Lutheran High School). Nancy enjoyed reading, playing cards with friends and traveling, especially the family trips to Washington DC where they toured the White House, Florida, California, motor trips to Canada, the holiday trip to Aruba and the numerous trips up north.
Nancy is survived by her two sons, Craig Bassuener and Keith Bassuener both of Sheboygan Falls; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Allison, Kate, and Jonathan Bassuener; and one brother-in-law, Carl.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carlos, brothers, George and John, sisters Valentina and Mary, and one sister-in-law also named Nancy.
A funeral service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be on April 30th, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Alan Kretschmar officiating.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at Greenlawn Memorial Park on April 30th, 2026 from 10:30 A.M until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.
