The Spring Election will be held today with the most prominent race that for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Polls remain open between 7 AM and 8 PM for voters to cast their ballots in-person, but many had already taken advantage of early voting options.
The Supreme Court race is between Judge Chris Taylor – favored by those favoring a liberal court, and Judge Maria Lazar – favored by conservatives. Both are currently Appeals Court Judges and hope to fill the seat being vacated by conservative Justice Rebecca Bradley. A win by Lazar would maintain the current liberal balance of 4-3, while a win by Taylor would lock a liberal, 5-2 majority through at least 2030.
While all Sheboygan County Supervisor seats are up for reelection, only District 7 is contested, between incumbent Ed Procek and challenger Drew Phillips.
The only contested races for Sheboygan Common Council are in District 2 where Incumbent John Belanger is challenged by Erin Bremser, and in District 8 where Peter Jacobs and Bryan Kelly are vying for the seat.
