Spring storms in the Sheboygan area can range from cold and wintry to warm and thunderous, and the threat of the latter has the National Weather Service advising awareness from this evening through Tuesday afternoon.
Although the threat level is slight, the main concern tonight is that the strongest storms could produce hail up to 2 inches in diameter…something around the size of an egg. Confidence is low concerning exactly where in southern Wisconsin this could occur, but if it does develop there could be significant damage to roofs, siding and vehicles. People should stay aware of any watches or warnings that might be issued.
On Tuesday there’s more confidence in the coverage of storms accompanying a cold front as it passes through, and while winds could reach 60 MPH in the stronger storms, hail should be smaller…up to an inch in diameter…and there’s only a marginal risk at that.
We’ll keep a close watch on this for any developments.
