Longtime Sheboygan Alder, County Supervisor, SASD Board Member and public servant Marjorie Mattern has passed away at age 101.
Mattern had volunteered continuously throughout her adulthood. She was elected to terms as a Sheboygan County Supervisor and the Sheboygan Area School District Board of Education, and was a committee member with the Sheboygan Parks Department for 49 years. She volunteered on the Sheboygan county Housing Authority, Maywood Environmental Center, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and the Sheboygan County YMCA. Marge Mattern’s service to the community was recognized by Mayoral Proclamations on both her 88th and 100th birthdays.
A private burial is planned; the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Sharon Richardson Hospice.
