A 20-year-old Manitowoc man previously convicted on ten child pornography counts in Manitowoc County Circuit Court now faces six additional charges in Federal Court related to Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM).
Brandon M. Lemerond was indicted in Federal Court on Tuesday on two counts of Obscene Visual Depictions of the Sexual Abuse of Children, one count of Production of Child Pornography, and three counts of Commission of a Felony Sex Offense by an Individual Required to Register as a Sexual Offender. Lemerond was previously convicted on ten counts of Child Pornography in Manitowoc County Circuit Court in February of 2023.
The indictment alleges the additional violations were committed in July of last year. If convicted on the child obscenity offenses, a term of a minimum 15 years – and up to 40 years – could be imposed, while the production charge carries a mandatory minimum of 25 years and up to 50 years in federal prison. The repeat counts mandate 10 years consecutive to any other sentence. Fines could also cost Lemerond up to $250,000 and supervised release could last from 5 years to life.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood and was launched by the US Department of Justice.
