A winter storm has lived up to expectations in Wisconsin, even as the storm evolved and kept forecasters and the public on their toes as those changes occurred. A Blizzard Warning remains in effect for all but northwestern Wisconsin, lasting until 4 PM here, as snow continues to fall this morning.
Many had already made adjustments days ago: On Friday, the City of Sheboygan proactively declared a Snow Emergency that’s now in effect. The Sheboygan Area School District yesterday announced a Virtual Learning Day for Monday; County Administrator Alayne Krause said on Sunday that non-essential Sheboygan County buildings and departments will be closed today, and the Sheboygan Department of Public Works announced that the New Jersey Avenue Recycling Center will be closed and the city’s collection schedule will be moved back a day this week, with Monday’s collection now on Tuesday and so forth.
Shoreline Metro also announced normal service beginning at 5:15 AM but with exceptions: There’ll be no County Program service to rural Sheboygan County on Metro Connection, and with no SASD classes there will be no Tripper or Express Routes.
