A storm that’s already brought sleet and freezing rain, and is forecast to put down anywhere from 6 to 9 inch total snow accumulations in Sheboygan County, has resulted in several notable closings and adjustments.
First, the City of Sheboygan had already declared a Snow Emergency pro-actively on Friday. On Sunday evening, County Administrator Alayne Krause announced that non-essential Sheboygan County buildings and departments would be closed on Monday. Those buildings include the County Administration Building, the Sheboygan County Courthouse, the ADRC in Sheboygan Falls, and the Health and Human Services Building.
Earlier on Sunday, the Sheboygan area School District announced that Monday would be a Virtual Learning Day. School buildings will be closed, and students will learn remotely from home. The District also said that Monday’s KidStop and Recreation Department activities had been cancelled.
The Sheboygan Department of Public Works also announced that there will be no garbage or recycling pickup on Monday due to the winter storm. Garbage and recycling services will resume on Tuesday, with all schedules delayed by one day beginning with Monday’s collection picked up on Tuesday, and so forth until Saturday the 21st. The residential recycling center will also remain closed until Tuesday.
