Work requiring lane closures on I-43 will begin next week. The Wisconsin DOT advises that lane restrictions will begin on March 19 and continue for the duration of the project that’s expected to wrap up in late October or early November.
Beginning on the 19th, long-term, single lane closures will be emplaced in both directions between State Highways 28 and 42. Concurrently, a 14-foot width restriction will be enforced at the I-43 overpass at Highway 23 for the duration of work on those structures.
The full project will repave the road, maintain structures, grade slopes and replace beamguards. Full closures of ramps in the project work zone are scheduled for later this year, and will be noted on the project’s construction website.
Drivers are also encouraged to review work zone safety rules for motorists at https://wisconsindot.gov/
