A storm that produced strong thunderstorms south of here and deadly tornadoes in Illinois has treated us much better, but we’re not through with the impacts as a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect in the Sheboygan area until 1 PM.

NWS Graphic
The advisory covers much of the state north of a Sheboygan – La Crosse County line as a wintry mix of rain and freezing drizzle transitions to snow later this morning. While overall precipitation should be light, a light glaze of ice is possible on roads and elevated surfaces where snowfall could also add up to an inch. Road conditions were normal according to the Wisconsin DOT this morning, but drivers should be aware of changing conditions.
After a clear, cold night, Thursday should start out sunny but more messy precipitation is likely tomorrow night. Forecasters are still keeping a wary eye on a weekend system that has the potential to lay down moderate snow accumulations Saturday night into Sunday.
