Nancy L. Rushton, of Cedar Grove, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Cedar Grove Gardens. She was 89 years old.
Nancy was born January 17, 1937 in Cedar Grove to Harold and Henrietta (Meylink) Meinen. She graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1955, the Valedictorian of her class. Over the next 65+ years, Nancy enjoyed regular get togethers with her classmates who became her lifelong friends.
Nancy married Howard Rushton on December 2, 1955 at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary before Howard’s passing in January, 2023.
For over 30 years, Nancy worked along Howard as the bookkeeper for Howard Rushton Electric Motor Repair.
Nancy was a lifelong member of Calvary OPC Church, where she taught Bible school and Bible class, and was a member of the Calvary Bible League.
She loved spending time at the cottage “up north”, especially the many 4th of Julys shared with familiy that were extra special. She loved traveling with Howard, making it to 49 states, as well as reading. Above all, she loved her family and memories made with them.
Nancy is survived by her daughters: Lori (Jim) Te Stroote and Julie (Rick) Rogers; 7 grandchildren: Sara Te Stroote, Sally (Kyle) Nunez, Stacy (Kyle) Wesner, Stephanie (Tyler) Koller, Mike (Sheila) Rogers, Jon (Pam) Rogers and Katie (Kevin) Mentink; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie and Mallory Ackley, Mikayla, Emma, Brayden and Owen Rogers, Connor, Quinn and Grayson Mentink, Hunter Nunez, Ivy and Daisy Koller, Willow and Wells Wesner, and Baby Koller due in May; 3 step-great-grandchildren: Arianna and Caleb Gross and Aubrey Nunez; sister Judy Claerbout, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Frank and Mabel Rushton, brother-in-law Warren Claerbout and sister-in-law Lenore (George) Harrison.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 12:00 noon – 1:45PM. She will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery beside Howard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Milwaukee Rescue Mission or Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
