Maureen Rose Pittner, 89, of Sheboygan, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at Sheboygan Senior Community where she had been living.
Born November 11, 1936 in Hammond, IN, Maureen was a daughter of the late Patrick and Lucille Gessert Mullane. She attended Garfield Grade School and Elkhart Lake High School while living her Aunt and Uncle, Viola and Gilbert Laack, and then graduated from Central High School in 1955. She continued her education with classes at Lakeshore Technical College. On October 18, 1958, she was united in marriage to Randall Valentine Pittner at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. They were married for 38 years before Randall preceded her in death on February 28, 1997.
Maureen worked at a ward clerk at St. Nicholas Hospital in the surgery department for 20 years before her retirement. She previously worked at Fessler Drugs. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Society. She was an avid reader and bowled in league at both the local and state level, loved playing bingo, and volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels and as a Den Mother for her boys while they were in the Cub Scouts. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved being a grandmother, great grandmother and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, David Pittner, Thomas (Dena) Pittner, Mark Pittner, and her bonus son, James (Lynette) Pittner; all of Sheboygan; her grandchildren, Jocelyn (Michael) Gilligan, Jacklyn (James Schad) Pittner, Tylor (Jovanna) Taubenheim, Trevor (Trista) Taubenheim and Annie and Joey Pittner; her great grandchildren, Bryanna, Robbie abd Beau Gilligan, Ethan Schad, and Lincoln Pittner; her brother, Robert Mullane; her sister-in-law, Tana Mullane; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, Randall, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Katie Irene Pittner; her brothers, Patrick Mullane, Jerold (Leah) Mullane, and James Mullane; her sisters, Sharon (Donald) Dickmann, and Sandra (Richard) Tighe; her in-laws, Frances (John) Lorenz, Joseph (MaryAnn) Pittner, Roman (Corrine) Pittner, and Ralph (Fay) Pittner
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 818 Huron Avenue, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Mass. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for Meals on Wheels or the Sheboygan Senior Community.
