Among the numerous items to be dealt with tonight, the Sheboygan Common Council will take action on two notable items, one launching repairs on South Business Drive and the other purchasing the North Breakwall Lighthouse.
The lighthouse was put up for sale by the US government, and the City of Sheboygan plans to take possession with a pledge to spend nearly a half million dollars ($495,857) to repair and improve the structure, addressing everything from the concrete base attachments to corrosion throughout the tower.
The contract with Vinton Construction to repair South Business Drive and South 14th Street from Union to Indiana Avenue is also up for approval. Besides new pavement, the contract also involves curb, gutter and sidewalk replacement, along with some sewer infrastructure repairs. The contract requires work to be completed by August 6th.
The meeting takes place at 6 tonight and can be viewed in person or via the City’s public YouTube stream.
