Farming used to be taught hands-on within the family growing up on the farm, but these days, agriculture is open to anyone who wants to learn. That’s exactly what you’ll find on Saturday at Lakeshore College’s 4th annual Ag Discovery Day. The free, engaging event, recommended for ages 9 and older, is designed to introduce the world of agriculture through interactive, hands-on learning stations led by experienced agriculture professionals.
Within the Cleveland Campus’ Ag building there’ll be multiple stations featuring demonstrations and instructions from veterinarians, ag educators and farmers. Those attending can go station-to-station to explore their interests, and there’s even a friendly team-based competition of essential livestock care skills with prizes at the conclusion.
