A collaboration between the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Fond du Lac Police Department, as well as the Dodge County and Washington County Sheriff’s Offices have succeeded in apprehending a wanted felon.
The operation began with the pursuit of a vehicle when it entered the Fond du Lac City Limits on Highway 41. Attempts to stop the vehicle prompted the suspect to flee. The ensuing pursuit covered some 34 miles as the suspect fled southbound on I-41, striking two tire deflation devices along the way. The vehicle eventually had to exit I-41 at Highway 60 in Washington County.
At that point, law enforcement conducted a high-risk traffic stop followed by apprehension of both occupants, consisting of the wanted felon and a fugitive passenger. A firearm was located on the ground outside the vehicle, and within the vehicle a magazine and more ammo was located.
Further searches turned up an additional firearm along with nearly a half-pound of crack cocaine and over four ounces of fentanyl.
The vehicle operator was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on additional felony charges, while the fugitive passenger, who was already out on bond in three separate Milwaukee County cases, was jailed on multiple felony charges including three counts of felony bail jumping.
