The name of the victim in last week’s fatal crash involving a school bus has been released.
57-year-old Darren Hess of West Bend was driving a pickup truck on Ozaukee County Highway “I” just north of Cedarburg last Thursday when he drifted across lanes and crashed head-on into a school bus. Hess was pronounced dead at the scene while the bus driver – the lone occupant – had only minor injuries.
That crash is still under investigation pending receipt of the crash reconstruction, autopsy and toxicology results.
