A brother and sister were identified as the two persons found deceased after a welfare check was conducted in northern Manitowoc County on Tuesday.
82-year-old Kenneth Kroll and his sister, 75-year-old Sandra Kroll, were found in the residence they shared in the Town of Two Creeks. Autopsies on the two were completed this Friday, and final results are expected in several weeks. Investigators were confident that there was no danger to the community or public, and said that no foul play was discovered.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office reminded the public to regularly check on elder family members, neighbors, and loved ones, especially during winter months or periods of extreme weather. In the case of the Krolls, the welfare check was initiated after concerns were raised regarding a prolonged loss of electrical power and lack of contact with the occupants. The Sheriff offered that prompt welfare checks and staying connected can help ensure the safety and well-being of those who may be isolated.
Information is still being collected concerning the case, and can be referred to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office at 920-683-4201.
