Change-of-the-Pen of Sheboygan’s Poet Laureate Announced

A new Poet Laureate for the City of Sheboygan has been announced.  Mayor Ryan Sorenson announced that Anneliese Finke will succeed Lisa Vihos in that position at the January 19th Common Council meeting, in concert with an introduction by the outgoing Poet Laureate, Lisa Vihos, and a poetry recitation by Ms. Finke.  Finke becomes only the second Poet Laureate of Sheboygan, as Vihos served the first-ever term from 2020-2026.

The Poet Laureate is one legacy of recently-passed Mayor Mike Vandersteen, established in 2020 following approval from the Mead Library Board and the Common Council.
