As National Weather Service meteorologists monitoring weather systems adjust forecasts to reflect observed changes, a Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow has now been issued for our area from 6 PM today until noon on Monday. Snow is expected to develop tonight with 1-2 inches of powdery accumulations that can easily be rearranged by the winds, which may gust over 40 MPH early Monday morning, even after clouds cease to produce new accumulations.
Once snowfall ends, a Cold Weather Advisory will take effect between 3 AM and 12 Noon on Monday for nearly all of southern Wisconsin including Sheboygan County. The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero in some spots could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes, and hypothermia is also likely if improperly protected from the cold.

NWS Graphic
Only minor relief from the cold is expected by Wednesday, followed by another reinforcing dose of cold arctic air to end the week.
