The lone person involved in a one-vehicle crash was flighted for treatment after the car left the road last night.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, a 21-year-old West Bend woman was traveling northbound on Highway W, just outside the Village of Campbellsport at around 9:20 PM Sunday when she failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree. The driver, and only occupant, was not wearing a seat belt at the time, and the resulting injuries were serious, leading to a Flight for Life transport to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Alcohol is considered to be a contributing factor and the accident remains under investigation.
