While you may not technically be experiencing a White Christmas…that’s assuming you don’t have at least an inch of snow cover at your home…snow’s winter cousin – ice – could appear on roads early Christmas morning.
The National Weather Service is forecasting very light rain and drizzle this evening, with colder temperatures setting in near daybreak. Depending upon timing, any remaining wet roads could freeze by daybreak, most likely between 4-9 AM.
Margins between safe and slick will once again be thin, featuring temperatures barely dipping below freezing tonight, with the northwest half of the county most vulnerable. No advisories have been issued, and no measurable rain, snow or ice is expected.
Weather should remain mild both tomorrow and Friday, with another chance of light rain between midnight and noon Friday. Forecasters aren’t ruling out slippery conditions again on Friday night, but the odds now are for wet, but not icy roads.
