All 72 Wisconsin Counties reported declining rates of unemployment in September. With records still catching up after the government shutdown, the September numbers also show rates decreasing over all 13 metropolitan areas and all of Wisconsin’s 35 largest cities over the month.
In non-seasonally adjusted terms, the Sheboygan Metro Area recorded a workforce of 64,100 in September, a decrease of 600 since August and 600 more than a year ago, but once seasonal adjustments are applied the workforce of 64,000 was down 200 for the month and up 1,000 since 2024. That yielded an unadjusted unemployment rate of 2.4% for September, down 0.4% since August and up 0.1% for the year.
The City of Sheboygan recorded a September unemployment rate of 2.6%, down from 3.1% in August, but up three-tenths from September 2024.
Sheboygan County displayed a 2.4% unemployment rate in September, down four-tenths from August, and up one-tenth from 2024.
