The Wisconsin public is being advised to be prepared for an onslaught of arctic air this weekend by the National Weather Service.
Expectations are that highs will be limited to the single digits on Friday, and around to below zero later Friday night through Sunday night. During those periods, it’s anticipated that wind chills will range between -10 and -30 degrees. If there’s to be any relief, it would be along the immediate shoreline of Lake Michigan.

For now, the coldest temperatures and wind chills are anticipated Friday night into Saturday morning, and again Saturday night into Sunday. Bitter cold conditions will still exist Sunday night into Monday morning, but by then wind chills should generally be between -10 and -20 degrees.
Temperatures returning to near normal are expected by mid-late next week.
