If you’ve got to spend any time outdoors, the weather will cut a short break today and tomorrow…but then it appears the outdoors will be anything but nice.
After highs around 20 and lows in the teens, temperatures start the big slide Friday night.
By sunup on Saturday temperatures are forecast to dip below zero while wind chill readings are driven to the 20s below, likely triggering a cold weather advisory…not the worst as in an extreme cold warning which requires wind chills colder than 30 below. Wind chills do stay below zero until Monday, and being unprepared for such conditions can be life-threatening if you become stranded, and so it’s best to prepare for the worst.
Those temperatures aren’t expected to exceed the freezing mark again until Tuesday, but if there’s good news it’s the absence of any significant snow for the near term. And as for a White Christmas: the forecast for December 18-24 is for near normal temperatures and above normal precipitation, and so keep your fingers crossed.
