A Sheboygan youth that tried to elude Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies is in jail after the subsequent pursuit ended in a crash.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a speeding violation on Highway 45 / Lakeshore Drive at around 1:30 Monday afternoon prompted the deputy to turn on the lights and siren, but the driver continued southbound at a high rate of speed for another two miles. When attempting to turn eastbound on West Scott Street, the driver lost control and struck the adjacent curb, disabling the vehicle which came to rest after traveling another 500 feet.
The driver, a juvenile from Sheboygan, is currently being held in the Fond du Lac county Jail on charges of Fleeing and Eluding along with Recklessly Endangering Safety. There were three additional individuals in the car; nobody was injured and the only damage was to the fleeing vehicle.
