MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsin reported more than 2,000 new cases of coronavirus in a single day for the first time on Thursday.
The 2,034 positive tests reported by the Department of Health Services marked the third record-breaking day in the past eight days. The positivity rate was 17.8% out of 11,445 total tests completed.
The state also reported three new deaths.
Seven-day averages moved to 1,409 cases, 14.3% positive and five deaths.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 94,746 total cases, more than 1.3 million negative tests and 1,231 deaths.
As of Thursday, DHS considered 81,902 people to have recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
