Sheboygan-based Old Wisconsin Sausage Company has earned recognition for its support to veterans and their families, for increasing veteran hiring rates, and boosting the Wisconsin Workforce. Those criteria define the “Vets Ready Employer Initiative” of the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. A record 25 businesses from across the state were awarded the distinction this year. Awardees are promoted by Department of Workforce Development staff, veteran agencies and organizations, and workforce partners through resources such as the DWD’s website.
Old Wisconsin Sausage Company was given the “silver” designation for its efforts to support veterans in the workplace.
