Projections by the National Weather Service continue to hone in on this weekend as the likely start of the snow season in Sheboygan County.
Historically, the first measurable snowfall here is anywhere from mid to late November, with the first 1/10 of an inch or more in the middle of the month. The first snow of 1 inch or more in Sheboygan County usually happens in early December.
As currently forecast, a mix of rain and snow will spread across southern Wisconsin Saturday afternoon, transitioning to just snow shortly after sunset. Traffic is unlikely to be hampered due to warm surface temperatures and associated melting, but elevated and grassy surfaces may see a few tenths of an inch accumulation by Sunday morning. Any actively-falling snow is likely to have ended by sunrise, however.

NWS Graphic
While snow showers and flurries are common in forecasts for the beginning of the coming week, amounts will likely be negligible. Temperatures will be harder to ignore, with 30-degree highs until Tuesday, and wind chills driven to near 10 degrees on Monday night.
