While some municipalities took advantage of the past weekend to host trick-or-treating, a half dozen Sheboygan County communities are observing tradition by celebrating Halloween on – Halloween.
Most of those will observe the hours between 4 and 7 PM for little ghosts and ghouls…and a host of other costumed creatures…to ply the neighborhoods in search of treats. And while the little ones hope for bags full of “treats”, the hopes of the neighborhood hosts is that the “tricks” are kept only in the imagination.
The Village of Kohler will observe the annual hunt for sweets beginning at 5 PM, while Cedar Grove, Howards Grove, Oostburg, Sheboygan and Sheboygan Falls will start an hour earlier at 4 PM. All conclude the observance at 7 PM.
Residents planning to greet the trick-or-treaters are asked to keep their porch lights on as a sign that there are good things waiting for those who announce their intentions at the doorsteps. And everyone is asked to be on high alert when driving through neighborhoods in order to keep everyone safe, and happy.
